Call around to the vets. First see if anyone of them has experience with an iguana. If the they do, ask for the vet to call you back instead of talking with the receptionist. S/he may agree to at least see you and evaluate the injuries without charge. Mention setting up an account that people could donate to. Also talk with your Mom and make sure she will take you to the vets if you can get this all arranged. You have alot of work ahead of you, not to mention some emotional stress of your own.
I just want you to be prepared for the some of the choices ahead though. Our cat last year, had a jaw injury where half the jaw was broken. Her mouth had to be wired and she was fed through a stomach tube for 4 weeks. Between the xrays, 2 surgerys, the special food, and visits it ended up being close to $1000. In fact last year everyone of our cats (3) needed surgery. The last one we ended up having "put to sleep" because the repair of the injuries would have cost another $2000 to fix. By that time we were into the vet for more than we could afford already. It is especially hard on you when it comes down money. Just for the xrays, emergency visit, and euthanasia it was $200. I cried for a long time over that decision.
Until you get Rex to a vet you just don't know the extent of the injuries or what costs are involved. Be prepared that you might have to put Rex to sleep, you keep in mind it is the best thing for Rex.
