Yesterday Steph, Sheila and I went to a local pet store and worked with 5 iguanas that are there. All of these igs were dropped off as unwanted at one time or another. Unfortunately they are in poor shape and need a lot of attention. The owner told us we could come in and do what we want with them as long as it doesn't cost him anything. These iguanas are infested with mites, have thickened and unshed skin, abcesses and some gangrenous toes. We bathed, picked, sprayed, completely cleaned the enclosure, and generally loved them up for about 4 hours. Fortunately, they will be seen by our vet on Wednesday. The kicker is, the owner told us we could take them but that we have to take them all, at one time. Neither Sheila nor I have the room right now...... so we will be taking turns visiting the shop and doing what we can. There are more pics...
