Hi Robert, I think what Kati was trying to tell you is trying to figure out all the ratios of the items you feed is a very complicated matter. She was exactly right about getting a good hard wall ready to beat your head against...haha! Its actually is not just what the nutrient breakdown of each veggie is. Without getting into a chemistry lesson some items when combined with other items can cancel out diff properties of that item. Recently the Iguana Mailing list had a very good debate on this very subject matter. If you subscribe(its free) you can get back issues. I believe I saw a link to it on another post but if anyone would like the address and instructions e-mail me and I'll be glad to give them to you.
I also use a combination of Melissas Salad and the Iggydens Salad for my Ig's. I am a staunch believer in variety.... Yes the 2or3 to one Ca/Phos ratio is what most of the experts believe we should be striving for. As you continue to collect info about diets you'll find certain items that everyone (well, most) agrees is good for igs and certain items that are marginal for igs and some items that you should never feed an Ig. If you use a good variety of the good items mostly and a little of the marginal items and stay away from the never items you should do ok. Instead of trying to figure out exactly what the breakdown is(Ca/Phos) I take my Igs for blood work every 6 months and would adjust my diet if called for....so far that hasn't happen(yipee!!!) I sure hope this helped some.....
