16 gauge 1/2 inch-1 inch vinyl coated hardware cloth or regular hardware cloth ..no difference for iguana cages. Major hardware stores or feed stores or fence shops. Igs can STILL cause injury to themselves by rubbing noses raw or climbing it then ripping out a claw with their flying stunts. Hopefully yours will adapt since they are young and not set in housing or routine. If you ever see igs in captivity they are usually alone for good reason.Well the larger/older ones that is...as juvies they should be okay for awhile. Sexual maturity at 18 months. Breeding season aggression anytime there after. My male ig suddenly became very very aggressive towards his brother/cagemate as he neared 5 yrs old. Igs are capable of inflicting serious injury with their razor sharp teeth that shed and can wind up imbedded in your skin. From what Ive seen a bite can be deep because its almost like a saw...then the ig thrashes about much like a shark on a feeding frenzy or the instinct to pull away or pull the ig off ... yowie! well maybe not that bad ;-)but you get the picture. It can be deep depending on the grip, and body part bitten and I think when the igs are older is when the more serious stuff can occur. Most times their body language gives em away....like charging, lunging, flared dewlaps, psycho looks, standing on all fours, shudder bobs... sometimes there is no warning whatsoever ...... but since yours are young you will be able to learn from each other. At this stage if they are getting aggressive with you....... do not back down! You are in control...You're the boss!
