Well you should encourage him to bask (so you may need to move the heating pad/hidey spot out of there for awhile.
You don't need much supplementation if you are feeding a nutritious varied diet with collard greens, mustard greens, etc etc.... I would say you are giving too much if your diet is right. Perhaps give them each once per week. I only use the calcium supplement when Sleestack doesn't get any calcium rich veggies for a week. (if I substitute escarole, watercress, dandelion for the collards)
As far as taming....eeeeeee...it's not easy when you have a wild eyed one! Just spend short periods of time a couple times per day with him. Eventually he'll realize you are not trying to kill him--LOL...
