I use 1/4 inch plastic coated wire mesh to cover the cage that I have. So fair it hasn't caused any problems with either Guana or my Water Dragon (seperate cages). It has also worked very well for me when designing a wall made of shelves. I use the wire mesh over the bars. It has worked wounderful. Baby loved his climbing wall. Good luck.
