Hey Marie ........need a tapeworm specimen??

Can you believe this!! Came in from emptying Juana's outdoor toilet container..It was a busy weekend for me so it sat there over the weekend, she poopied in it Friday! All the poopie was disintegrated to tiny little fragments and at the bottom swimming as pretty as you please 3 ADULT tapeworms each about 2 inches long maybe. YECH!!! Both Juana & Feo had "clean" fecal floats about 2 months ago with "minut microflora"(?)anyway ....Got Juana in the tub this am....trying to get her to go so I can take a specimen down to the vets... so far nothing......this is so ironic because here we just started talking about cestodes!! Im sure these are some sort of tapeworm Juana & Feo do graze, lick at everything when they're out, and I do collect dandelion & other edible foilage for them to eat from different places including work, neighbors yard, farmer's markets and about a month ago from a community garden in Long Beach that my girlfriend turned me onto (which I am starting to wonder about!)....and more than likely didn't wash something good enough....and infected them ...don't know if tapeworm eggs are viable in fertilizers , more than likely from dog or cat feces and not cleaning vegetation good enough I'll bet. Still think its rare?? Lolol I don't!! I'll let ya know what the vet says! Im going to have both of them re-tested.... Oh also...what is a good way to kill tapeworms, I was so freaked out I dumped the water out...it empties to a vacant lot on the other side of my fence. Im wondering now if those worms will live to infect/contaminate something else? What is a good way to kill them? And what is a good solution to preserve them in? don't ask me why just curious I guess and I hope I never see those nasty looking things again!!...giving myself the willies! Juana's actin like nothings wrong at all! Eating, vegging out,
same ole same ole. Any thoughts?
