My little girl got some pretty severe burns on her a couple of years ago. The vet prescribed zinc oxide...regular burn cream.

sounds like the burns are pretty wide spread...i would recommend a daily soaking in a warm bath with betadine solution...put enough in to make the water look the color of tea...leave the ig in as long as desired...a great bonding time for you and ig...

take her out of the tub and rub a light layer of zinc oxide on the wounds...place back in enclosure after removing all hard or rough surfaces...will probably need to place a towel in the bottom and change it when soiled...re apply the cream about three times a day...

reptiles heal VERY slowly...you will probably see permanent scars....i presume you have been to a vet?? sometimes the burns are severe enough that stitching the skin together is neccessary...or if enough exposure has occured, a shot of antibiotics is needed to prevent infection, or an iv of fluids may be needed for dehydration...

if there is a heat light/rock in the cage, it needs to be gotten rid of....if it's a rock, throw it away...they are dangerous..if it's a lamp, place it on the outside of the enclosure....reptiles do not have pain sensors like we do, they don't know that they are burning themselves and they can easily kill themselves.

good luck and take care
