You should consider NOT getting any kind of reptile or animal for that matter, just because of "color"! Just by your post, I know that you don't know enough about iguanas, to go out and buy one. That's the first problem! You should be doing standard research on information for caring for an iguana first. The reason.....for one thing, when you study first before buying, your new reptile/animal will have a better chance of living a long life, instead of possibly dying, within the first 1 to 2 years. The second, which would answer your own question, which would be, that the orange color has to do with the iguana (male) being in mating season.
Children, teens, AND adults, need to learn to do research BEFORE buying any animal/reptile! It's part of what I call "self-control". Realizing that you don't know the first thing about caring for a reptile, you're looking at buying and make the decision NOT to buy it, until you do enough research to have a good understanding on the care that this reptile/animal needs.
Please try doing the above, the next time you WANT something.....stop and think about it first.
