turn the red light off at night ... iZ sez he likes it dark to sleep really good ... otherwise, yes, it can be on all day ...

make *very* sure that the ig cannot reach the bulb!!! iZ "tasted" one once when he was very young ... it embarrasses him that i mention it, but it proves a point ... even smart igs (like you iZ!) make mistakes and do silly things + get *major* owies!

now! calm down, relax + enjoy your new roomie! everything doesn't have to be *perfect* immediately ok???? ya know we're here to help!!!
