Initially, I thought I was seeing a reaction to the Nolvasan I use to disinfect the cage, dishes and logs. (As a side note, I always rinse after disinfecting completely.) I watched to see if it happened more often after I just cleaned and disinfected. It did not.
Then I was sure I had done something wrong and he was going to die right before me eyes. (Aren't all moms the same?) I finally came to the conclusion that it was just a nervous system overload, like a tic, or something similar to what we feel when our foot goes to sleep.
I have never seen any indication that it has anything to do with health, surroundings, injury, etc. (Thank God!) I think it is just an ig quirk, but will watch and see what some of the experts have to say.
Now, hug your baby and tell him you're sorry mommy is neurotic, but it's because you love him! (That was not an insult. All good ig mommies are neurotic. : )
