Hi,

I think alot of it will depend on how much dog food he was actually eating. Did you grind up only a kibble or two or several? The type of dog food is also important. Most dog foods are a corn meal or cereal based food with little or no actual meat. Protein content can vary greatly from high-protein puppy foods to some of the lite science diet type stuff. Protein for a growing juvenile is not a bad thing--they must have it. However, for those beginners out there, go with vegetable based protein like beans. I fed mine protein only once a week so I think you may have overdone it a bit but chances are your ig will be ok. Another factor would be the quality of the rest of his diet. Did he get a variety of green leafy veggies and the appropriate vitamin/mineral supplements? Was his environment the appropriate temp and humidity? Did he get proper full-spectrum lighting? If he was cared for properly in every other way, chances are he'll be able to handle that excess protein. I wouldn't worry too much. The problems associated with too much protein are normally caused by people feeding a diet of ONLY dog food and especially to adult specimens that need VERY LITTLE protein.

Bottom line: if you can be a bit more specific maybe we can help you more.

Good Luck,

Jason
