Well mine has only had a couple of bad spells..and I left him alone for a few hours. I'm not sure what I would do if he were like that all the time. I think you do need to spend some time with him...so if he lets up at all on this behavior, I would let him out. When mine just head bobs at me (which is happening more frequently lately...I assert my dominance and pet him.) My plan is to maintain Alpha position. Strangely enough the only times he has tried to attack was when he is in his cage and I am bending down to tend to the bearded dragon. Perhaps me lowering myself gives him the impression I am submitting and encourages this challenge of ALpha status.

A lot of this alpha talk is something I've been playing around with. I seemed to dominate my last male and he respected me...we had a great relationship. I never showed fear and he only tested the waters at challenging me when he was reaching adulthood. When I didn't back down, he seemed to accept things. Sleestack is going to be more problematic I can tell. I can only try to earn his respect, but he has already challenged me further than Salvador. If I can somehow nip things in the bud now, I'm hoping it will save the welding gloves later on. But judging from some of the stories here where they can really turn at age 5, perhaps I will eventually lose this battle. Sleestack is 10x more fiesty and stubborn than Salvador anyway! Sleestack and I actually BOTH had our mouths open as wide as they would go in a complete alpha challenge last month-- each of us pressed up against either side of his plexiglass (mouth to mouth LOL what a sight!) I can make more noise than him though!

Anyway sorry for the tangent...was just thinking out loud!
