Again speaking only from experience, and this is only describing what happened to me not a fix, but perhaps some help to you. This is what happened to Spazzy, when she was a baby my cat saw her tail and thought it was a string and my slowness caused the cat to just nip the tip of it off, After that it looked good for about 6 -8 months but just last year her tail for about 6" got stiff, after it getting stiff it started to discolor and it looked like it had a sore developing, I had a friend who was familiar with iguanas and I was told to break it off, I do not reccomend this, it is a horrible thing to have to do, What I did was take a wet wash cloth warm water and I would wipe it down everyday and put antibiotic cream on it eventually it fell off (just the 6")
it sounds to me like yours might have been injured. When that part of her tail fell off I kept antibiotic ointment on it and it has since developed a black ball at the tip of it. It looks sad but the vet told me that her tail was fine at this point. Hope this helps but I guess when in doubt call the vet.

: Gee Rick...don't know..like Iguana Joe suggested...since your'e worried about it call your herp vet & see if it warrants a visit, but from what you are postin doesn't sound like nothin unusual to me anyway... ...can you scan a pic of it for us? Anything else you notice about her tail..discoloration, shed problems, dried out tail rot, could she have injured it; someone grabbed it and its ready to fall off? (autonomy)really don't know. Hopefully someone else will be able to help ya out here. Sorry
