Indeed, never pull away from a reptile bite (except, if course, venomous). It may turn something merely messy into a bloody wreck. As mentioned, spray it in the face with wime, or some diluted Miracle Elixir (cheap whiskey) as mentioned earlier by Iguanamomma. I know a Python keeper who has a spray bottle on hand in the snake room. Another method is cold water - icecubes in a pan with water, and plunge hand, Ig (or snake, or turtle, or whatever) and all in it. He'll let go right smartly.

As for Missy's lost teeth, I am convinced that it was the result of no light what so ever for well over a month and general ill health. Plus the possibility of shedding. There is indeed another tooth in my hand. I am going to let it fester so as to know exactly where, then it'll be easy to extract. A pocket of pus will form around it, and then I will simply drain it out.

She's doing well, eating, and this morning she dropped a big one in the bathtub. She is also calming down a bit.

Too bad all rehabs are not this easy.

The Garoot is no longer exiled to the snake room. He can get in less trouble out here and Missy will just have to get used to him. She's confined, so territory disputes aren't likely to amount to more than head-bobbing.

: Ok, on this drawing you will see how the edge of the teeth are jagged. It is my understanding that by the naked eye, it's hard to view the edge, so I'm hoping this gives you an idea of the bases. Also notice how the teeth line up upper and lower to one another. They are perfect sets of cutters.
: You may have heard people tell you NOT to pull away when an iguana bites you, LOL, well IF you can do that, it's best to not move whatever is in your iguana's mouth. The movement, will cause the upper and lower teeth to start sawing into you skin and muscle tissue.
: We will always use the welding gloves with Harry until he either gets over this "trip" or as he gets bigger, we will need to find some other kind of glove.....maybe made out of steel or something!! LOL
