Could this be his breeding season time? See any orange coloration on him? If he's INSIDE this cage, it is important that if it isn't a fairly large one compared to his size that he be allowed out for supervised roaming time. That will help with this restlessness if it's just a matter of being bored ;O) If you think it may be connected with breeding season and you need more info on what to expect, just ask and someone will point you in the right direction for finding out more.
