I couldn't give you too much info. on the water dragon except that is smaller, eats insects, and lives in a partially water based environment. THe iguana, in contrast, grows to be 6 ft. lives in a humid environment, and is vegetarian. There is no substitution for some direct sunlight on a regular basis, but it is also a good idea to have a UVB tube light and a heat lamp for his enclosure. Some good dietary items are collard & mustard greens, dandelion greens, watercress, escarole, sweet potatos, squash, melon, and berries. (fruit should be no more than 10% of diet and greens should make up bulk of diet with other veggies supplemental). Iguanas are a long term commitment, living 20 years (although not many make it that long). Diet should contain calcium supplement and an occasional vitamin supplement doesn't hurt. A large enclosure that can be kept very warm with a temp gradient up to about 90 degrees. NO hot rocks!
I hope this helps and if you are interested in these awesome herps, please post what area you are from and they can help you get a rescue iguana since there are soooo many unwanted cuties out there.
