Hello! My ig Gwaners was potty trained for about 9mos to go in her litter box in her cage. It was great! Her cage never smelled because I cleaned the poop out daily. I used a cat box with Lizard Litter brand substrate, never cat litter. Her cage is always open, so, she always had the option to come out into the living room and poop on the couch or carpet. If she was out free-roaming, she would run back to the box and make poop =) It was like she took care of herself =) I just did the fun stuff like hang out and spend time with her, bathe her for shedding, feed her, make her salads, mist her, vacuum her astro turf and basking spot, trim nails. I no longer had to wash a poopy cage, just clean poop out every day, and clean the box out once a week and put fresh litter. Well, we moved to Virginia from New Mexico. In that time she was off schedule and I had to tub poop her. Well, her same cage has been setup for well over a month, same system all the way around. The first time she pooped here in VA was in her litter box, then, she decided "no more". She holds her poop for like 4 days (and I hate that) and then starts walking around the living room to find a nice spot to poop. She doesnt want to poop in her box, or her house at all! I keep trying to re-train her, but, she gets mad and jumps out of her box =( It took so long to train her, lots of time and patience. Before I got her trained she had some bad habbit of pooping on my futon(threw futon matress away). I have new sofas now =( Any suggestions? Any are welcome. Oh, and I am not fond of tub pooping, I have been tub pooping her lately since she refuses the box, the poops are huge and wont fit down the drain. I love the fact that she depends on me for proper lighting, diet, fun time, but, I recently found out I am pregnant,so, it would be nice if I could have her back to her old pooping ways. Please dont take this post wrong. I would never give up my Gwaners for anything. We had some hard times, pooped on my carpet many times, my bed, futon... all kinds of places. Felt like a major milestone when she pooped in the box without fail. Now that I am pregnant I dont want to have to be taking her to the tub everyday at a certain time, then, pulling big poop out of the tub with toliet paper and flushing them, then, washing tub with bleach. I will do it if I have to, I just prefer not to. Gwaners is my first baby, my #1 girl. I love her to bits and will always give her my best =) Thank you. Yvette and Gwaners
