People contract this disease because they are not careful to clean up after their pets - any pet - if you leave your pet in a dirty cage of course you're gonna get sick. Why don't people realize this - my iguana and bird cages are cleaned every day and disinfected once a week but if I see my iguana has accidentally stepped in his poop, I make sure his paws are cleaned immediately. These people that write all these articles should first investigate the story and find out why these people are getting sick. They give these animals a bad name!
