In Reply to: I'm looking for a website with normal lab values for an Ig... I know there is some but I just can't remember where... Thanx (nm) posted by Petra on January 10, 2000 at 21:41:46:

I'm not sure about any website having labs posted. A project that is on the back burner with me, was to collect labs from people on the forum here and post a general listing of lab work. Lab averages vary so much from lab to lab that finding an overall average that anyone can go by is impossible. Set standards would be great and I was trying last year to come up with such a list, but after consulting with my Vet about the project, I dropped it.
One of the goals now for me is to find any pattern I can in lab work. I am trying to collect a series of lab results from just one iguana and with this, a listing of the following information: diet, environment (temp./lighting) and humidity levels. If I can collect several iguana owners lab results, on an on going bases, maybe I can find a pattern for lab numbers. Although this would be a very "raw" study, it would be a start. Ideally, a controlled environment would be best, with recordings on food items fed to each iguana everyday. Such as the weight of each item fed to the iguana. recordings of temperatures and humidity 24/7 all year long. And to top off all of that, the use of iglets for the study, from the same hatch. Setting up different diets for each iglet and then monitoring them by blood work.
But for now, the bottom line is, there is no standard lab. If you'd like to see a standard to go by, ask your Vet to get a copy from his lab he uses. They will have a list of numbers that they use for a standard for blood work.

P.S. If you have any labs you'd like to donate to the project, pleae feel free to email a copy of the labwork and a list of your iguanas diet, to me at Lvsiggys@aol.com E-mail title:"bloodwork results"
