In Reply to: PETCO'S RESPONSE posted by Tori on January 08, 2000 at 10:55:06:
My fiancée and I have had several encounters at our local PetCo too.
The worst was in regards to a baby bearded dragon, who seemed to be very ill. My fiancée pointed out to an employee how sick it looked, and his response was "It's probably already dead..I'll take it out later."
I told him that it was still breathing, barely, but that didn't seem to change his attitude or sense of ugrency.
So, my fiancée went over and told a cashier about the poor little dragon. She rushed over and removed the baby from its cage, and then removed the cricket that was stuck in its throat.
The "reptile guy" in the store would have let the poor thing choke to death, despite our pleading.
On subsequent visits, the little dragon seems to be improving nicely. I wish that I was able to give him/her a home, so that I could get him/her out of PetCo's "care".
