Joan...gee whiz....define normal as it pertains to GGIs!! IMPOSSIBLE!!! lolol
Spikes...well why they splinter at the top ..I have no idea...Perhaps dehydration. Maybe its retain shed casings causing it to dry out at the top. Those frayed, splintered tips of the spikes is permanent...both Juana & Feo have them....got em like that...wish I knew how to get this darn scanner working ;-) I'd send you pixs! Their dorsal spines are completely screwy! some flop over, some curly, some splintered, some broken completely off. They've broken spines at the tip since Ive had them too.. how ...I do not know.
Eating & Pooping...not as frequently...sounds like normal (?) winter slow down. I think everyone's ig is doing the same (mine are) as well.
Spaz Attacks.....both mine are doing the same right now...changes in the routine (?) mine aren't going out as much as they did...since its getting cooler outside now. But both are restless in their cages....If Feo wasn't male you'd think he was gravid ready to lay...he's digging and scratching almost everyday....potting soil flying everywhere.... Juana's fighting me more...She doesn't want me to touch her...taking her out of her cage to use the bathroom...used to be a piece of cake...now I have my hands and arms covered, gloves, sweatshirts the works ...she wants down the minute I pick her up and is trying the scratch her way down! She's not aggressive but restless too maybe the breeding season bug is biting her too like it is Sneakers... Longing for the Igs of Summer once again!
Like Glenda says.....lolol in other words...sounds normal!!
