Is she currently gravid? I talked to at least a dozen "ig" vets before I decided to spay Lizzy. Carrying eggs was very stressful to her body. I was told not to let her go over a month without eating. I scheduled a tentative appointment with a vet that was very informed about the matter and had done or assisted a fair number of surgeries. Lizzy was very restless, nothing seemed to satisfy her for about two months. After a month with no food, she had her surgery, which was right at $300. She had 28 huge eggs that she probably never could have laid, and she was a very healthy lizard. I now no longer have to worry about her becoming egg bound. I think I gave her plenty of time to do her thing w/o putting her life in danger. We live 5 hours from a good herp vet. So it wasn't like I could get her there in an emergency. She's 5 months post-op and healthy as a horse forevermore!! I say give her a chance with a good nesting box, be sure she's taking some water daily, and make a tentative appointment for her. It wouldn't hurt to X-ray her to see how developed the eggs are. Good luck in your decision.
