The vaporizor is out side the cage she cannot get near it. I supervise as a matter of fact I am vigilant I think I aggravate her sometimes because I am always talking to her and checking her out. I just want a bigger cage for her .... she is in a 48" high and 36" wide and she has plenty of room but I was thinking she would be happier with more room, My only requirement is that the back of the cage is clear so she can look out the windows. Ya know what my Iggy vet told me.... he told me that in the wild iguanas only socialize about a minute a day and that they don't require much attention.... I beg to differ with him, she just loves to be petted, she closes her eyes her head goes back and I swear if she could she would purr...... she sits with me for long periods of time just sleeping while I pet her
I will work on my creativity with the hammock. Might even get her a fake tree for when she is out, loved that idea.

: careful if you're using a steam vaporizer!!! steam will burn faster than heat lamps (or the dreadful hot rocks)

: i use a cool mist humidifier in iZ's room ... in the winter onths when the furnace is on (+ since he's been sick!) i have it running all day long ...

: when he was smaller + had an enclosure, i put the humidifier next to his enclosure and used plastic pipe to direct the moisture more directly into his enclosure ...

: especially this time of year, the increased humidity is super for them! not just for things like easier shedding, but it's healthier for their respiratory system too ...

: love the hammock!!! *grin* iZ has a hanging log in the middle of his room + he's been pouting for weeks cuz he's not healed from surgery enough to climb up on it ... remember they live in trees in the wild, so being able to be up high PLUS not near a wall or something is something they really enjoy! what is the enclosure you're thinking of, made out of??? i'll betcha there's a way to suspend the hammock ... just gotta get creative ...heheheh ...
