i'd suggest at least having his calcium + phosphorous levels checked ... a 2:1 ratio is what you're hoping for ...
if you decide to splurge + have an entire panel done (i agree with HD, good info + reference to have 'on file') ...anyway ... the lab that does the blood work can give you a list of "normal" ranges ...
lab tests/blood work-ups can be kinda expensive, which is why i think it's not done routinely ~ but if you have just the calcium/phosphourus done, that's an excellent place to start + a so-so indicator of the ig's health ... "so-so" because ig health is still a new science + the guidelines that apply to mammals *don't* apply to iggies ... but a ratio that's not close to 2:1 does indicate a problem ...
ok ~ now i have to go guzzle caffiene + wake up! heheheh ~ got the day off!
