well, the only strangers that see iZ are at the vet's ... *wicked laugh* ... hubby usually takes over for me and tells them (in a pained voice i might add! *grin*) how much *work* it is to keep them healthy: how i've spent hundreds of thousands of hours on the computer to learn how to take proper care of iZ, how iZ has his own room, his own heater/thermostat/humidity for said room, how hard it is to *find* the vegies he needs to stay healthy, the fact that a daily, consistent routine is important + there are no spur of the moment weekend get-aways ... he also usually points out that ALL igs have the potential of getting to be 5-6 feet long in a rather short time ... and of course, now we have the biggie! and just mention the vet bills + all of THAT agony ...

i think it's the pained expression on his face that does it ... ROTF ... (but i KNOW how much he REALLY cares for iZ ... well, and me too i guess) ...

people frequently ask if they can touch/pet iZ ... i NEVER let strangers anywhere NEAR him! even when i *think* he is calm + happy, i tell them no, he's got really sharp teeth, we're in a strange environment (the vet's!) and he's stressed out ... funny how it really rather surprises them, me saying NO! ... they always look so shocked + rather hurt that i'd put iZ's feelings before their's ... DUH ... now, i can just show them the teeth marks on my arm too ...

then i apologize to iZ for making him sound like such a pain in the butt ... *grin*
