Alot of times pet stores sell whats called mini alfalfa bales or timothy hay sold for rabbits just as effective for fiber & protein gotta ask the clerk if ya don't see em see if they have alfalfa pellets (mini bales) ...usually sold for rabbits...if ya get those make sure the sticks, harder strands removed ...cut rest with a scissor into 1/4 inch and give...what Ive done with those mini hay bales in the past is put it in a ziplock baggie, crush it , step on it, whathave you...then remove the sticks, use what I need and store the rest for another day.
Might want to check out Health food stores, local major drug stores carry alfalfa supplements...break open a cap and sprinkle over igs food daily or as needed what have ya.
