I wouldn't trust the original program at all, I would wait at least a month after Dec., then log back onto the website where you can download this game at and see if people have reported back to the company about the virus.
I wasn't going to delete ours until I got the inner county email from our computer department saying the virus is there. I felt that I should warn everyone about this information, since last week the issue came around in the mailing list.
For me, the game is not worth losing everything we have on our hard drive. Hoax or no hoax....it's getting deleted.
If you download the game on floppy disk and then reload it after Christmas....bottom line the virus is still in the program, now whether it will activate after Christmas day when loaded I am not sure. I'll see if I can email our computer department and ask them about that. If I can, I'll let you all know what I find out.
