I have a Houdini Iguana named Buddy. It has become a running daily thing to try and keep her in the cage. And she constantly finds new and exciting ways to get out. I just have not had the time to try and train her to use the bathtub as a bathroom so I have tried to keep her in the cage.
I have another iguana, Sweet Pea, that is trained to use the bathtub and I have been letting her free roam for about a week or so now. Buddy has redoubled her efforts to get out so on Sunday, I gave her a bath (she went to the bathroom) and I let her out. I was cleaning her cage and then got a phone call and had to leave. I figured she could not get into too much trouble so I left her out with my son supervising.
My son fell asleep on the couch. He said he heard noise and found Buddy trying to get into another iguana cage. He moved her over and then went back to sleep. He heard more noise and found Buddy on my desk chair - very near Sweet Pea. Again, he moved Buddy over. I called him about an hour or so later and he woke up to get the phone and was laughing.
Buddy had put herself back into her cage!!! She was on her shelf basking. Too funny!!!
