with all the conflicting thoughts on the use of Baytril for iZ, i've been kinda worried if it's the right thing for him to be on ... so i contacted Dr. Fredric Frye and his opinion is ... "... Baytril at a dosage of 10 mg/kg/24 hours is the recommended dosage; it should be as safe as most other antimicrobials for a renal patient and is far more appropriate than the aminoglucoside antibiotics when dealing with a patient with kidney disease.
Of course, your iguana's fluid requirements must be maintained adequately. ... "
so that, combined with the opinion of the *real* ig-vet we *do* have now, i'm feelin' ok with it now ...
