It's so nice to see someone doing proper research before buying an ig! This is excellent advice you've gotten here -- get you ig from a rescue -- check out the ig care sites (especially mk's)-- and get a good vet!! As H/D says, ask the vet questions first, and if he answers any of them wrong - RUN!
But what I really wanted to add, was there is also a lot of information on cage buiding on the net, and some of it is simple enough for even me to do! I think Melissa Kaplan's site has some links in it.
Good Luck - and I can see there's going to be one lucky ig soon! Have you thought of names yet?
