I have been to the petstores in my neighborhood twice in the past week to get food dor my skink and snake(which finally decided to eat), while there I saw some things that disturbed me. One was the Ig enclosures, at one store they didn't even have heat lamps, or lamps of any kind for that matter, dirty substrate, whole ICEBURG lettuce leaves, for juveniles, and dirty water!!! Number two on my irritated list is the poor health of these poor innocent animals, one was so malnourished it had turned brown, you could count its ribs, and it looked as though its hip bones would soon be coming through the skin. And last but not least, they had those lovely "prepacked ig kits" a 10 gallon tank, food bowl, dry ig food, and reptile carpet. No heat lamps, or mention thereof, no UV lights, no mention on how large and how to care for they are, and on top of all this, the picture on the package under the words Iguana Kit, was a water dragon, not an iguana. So if any one has any tips on to confront these pet stores on their lack of proper ig info, would be appreciated. I need to still be polite though, because I will still need to get my crickets from somewhere.
