Good question...I found nothing under harmful/toxic plant lists I have on banana trees. I searched the PFAF database under banana and came up with some sensitivities to humans ingesting leaves nothing about being poisionous. Ive read that iguanas have been known to destroy banana plantations in Central & S. America and the farmers kill em on site because of it. No idea on the nutrative value of the leaves, but I would err on the side of caution and keep my ig from eating it....just to be on the safe side.
Here's the link to the PFAF Database if you want to follow-up on it scroll down towards the bottom: "Search for a Particular Word"
