Well if there is Ive never read about one...and as others suggested you'd have to research WHAT type of parasite you're talking about and run your preferred treatment past the vet. Unless you are able to do fecal floats/analyses at home you can't bypass that vet ;-)Fecal floats don't cost much...your vet will go over any questions you have about the course of treatment. There are many plants that are anti-parasitics that can be fed to an ig. I know in Mexican-Spanish communities boiled lettuce acts as a parasiticide and its broth also used for other stomach ailments. Suggestion try the PFAF database link below..under medicinal uses (of plants)the center category, click on Parasiticides then submit query. Research all you can about the plants used for the particular parasite you are researching. May also want to consult with Health Store and ask about homoepathic parasiticides for pets like small dogs. Again you got to know what parasite we're talking about. I for one would stick with what your vet recommends just because of efficacy and you want to eliminate these harmful parasites quickly. Your iguana should be tested for parasites every 6 months...which reminds me mine are due in a few weeks! Oh joy!
Here's the link...good luck
