Hi Paul,

The gene pool(s) that are gradually becoming weaker are the CB ones. As more and more breeders inbreed, the resulting offspring become less viable. Many of the offspring have the normal colors, and these are passed on as "het", what ever that means, resulting in yet more inbreeding somewhere else.

I am currently looking for a male for a northern horridus. It will probably have to be WC, but with luck, I will get the colors and patterns I want. I plan on enhancing the natural patterns, not erase them.

To keep on topic, I think an albino Iguana would be in the running for the ugliest animal ever produced, assuming one could survive.

I will never understand the urge to take something beautiful and unique, and turn it into just another albino with nothing to reccommend it but some messed up genes and nasty, little, red eyes.

Luck.

: : ....isn't our own gene pool bad enough without screwing up another. And oh, but ain't they OOgly! One whits snake or lizard looks pretty much like another to me.
