not familiar with desert igs, but i'd think a fecal would have been the very first thing to do in the case of a sick ig .... parasites can have a profound affect on any animal, can reduce appetite + energy levels ...
if it's not eating, i'd be concerned with dehydration ... give it some squirts of Infalyte in the mouth ...
other questions/things to notice: is it still able to poop/pee? while the amount of said poop will be reduced since it's not eating as much, does the poop itself still look normal?? does the pee/urates still look normal???
how do it's scales look? is it shedding ok? (iZ had a low-grade systemic bacterial infection which led to kidney damage and was affecting his scales ...)
how's his color?
how's his attitude?
is there ANYthing different in his environment that could be stressing him out cuz it's new? how long has she had him?
again, don't have experience with desert igs, just trying to think of things to notice to help the vets figure it out ... worry about dehydration first ... open it's little mouth + give it squirts of Infalyte/Pediatlyte daily ...
have Elmo's huMOM make notes of EVERYTHING that is the slightest bit different, AND find a vet who knows to do at least the most basic of tests ...
best wishes,
iZ's mom
