Hey Iz mom you sound like your treating my kitty that has renal failure,
I do sub q's and amphojel with the kitty. I've got this renal failure stuff down pad in kitties but not in Ig's.
I've never done sub-q on herps, but in kitty it is in the back between the shoulders blades. You lift the skin up insert the needle under the skin and once the needle is in place you let go of the skin you pulled up.The fluids usually form a pouch and fall down into the arm area and then they are absorbed gradually.
I don't know if it works that way with Ig's though, their skin probably isn't as stretchy as a cat's is.
In turtles it is just above the shoulder blade too.
Maybe your vet can tell you exactly where in an Ig, but the amounts should still not exceed 1-2% of your Ig's total body weight, in a 24 hr period.
Sorry can't be of more help for Ig's, your braver then I am if your attempting to do this on your own without vet instructions. :)
Wishing you luck with IZ.
