Depending on where you're located, you might want to think about NOT purchasing any. The reason behind this is, when you start getting iguanas in, you will have your hands full. When you say, rescue reptiles, are you saying, turtles, snakes, lizards, etc...? If you are, two things, you better have a 6000 square foot home or barn and plenty of money!!!! You'll need both. Just in the iguana arena, you will need a large amount of space to house them. A full grown adult iguana should be housed in a very large cage, at least 6x6x8. Now multiply that times a few iguanas and you can take up at least two nice sized bedrooms. Large snakes too take up room. If I could make a suggestion, I would think about pickin' a type and focusing in on it. But try to find others in your area who are also rescueing different types of reptiles so you can refer those types to them. (example: If we got a call to rescue a turtle, there's someone in VA we know, who does turtle rescue and would put the party in contact with that group) Speaking of that turtle group, they have rescued more turtles then I thought VA could hold!!! It's unbelieveable how many turtles need rescueing. As far as snakes go, we will see an increase in the amount of rescues I believe in the next 5 years.
Where are you located at? Depending on what you decide to do, we'd like to keep your name for future records so if someone in your area needs help we can have them contact you.
Good luck
