Another thing to consider:
Pure lewisi (C.nubila lewisi, Blue Iguana), pure caymanesis (C. nubila caymanesis, brown iguana),
and pure Cubans (C. nubila nubila)
that come from Cuba and not near Puerto Rico, cannot be bought,
sold, or traded over U.S. state lines without a federal permit (which
is really difficult to get unless you can prove prior dedication
and knowledge and experience with Cyclura. Commercial activity over state lines
of these Cyclura without a permit is violation of the ESA (endangered species act)
and punishable by up to a year in jail and $100,000 in fines. A quick look
at the "Iguana Newsbriefs" in many of International Iguana Society's "Iguana Times"'
will often list various smugglers who have been convicted of such crimes.
The URL at the bottom is a short article on cyclura care that I wrote, I have
a longer and more complete article on Cyclura being published this winter but until it is
released I can't put the whole thing with pictures, etc up on the net.
Also David Blair will eventually have caresheets and other great cyclura info up on the net
but it will take a few months at least.
Take care, I hope the article helps.
