: You said that the owner would let you come in and help nurse them. If you have the time to go see them everyday that one way you can help. Isn't that what the NIAD is all about, volunteering your time and knowledge. If you do have the time to go and help them it can also give you a chance to get to know the owners or managers of the store to see where the stand. If you help out they may be more willing to listen to you then if you go in with threats right away. If after taking some time to get to know the people at the store and they seem like they're willing to put some effort in improvement you can then call around and post some messages to see if you can gets some stuff donated for the little guys at least you would know that they would have a proper environment. For example you might be to get the store to donate or you can donate a ig to a High School in exchange for a cage from their shop class. I know a lot of this is wishful thinking and you may have to end up fighting with them. But there is other positive things you can do to help these little guys. Plus stopping every day to check them and nurse the would take a lot less time then if you buy them nurse them and try to find them homes and would make more of a difference. Another idea is to volunteer your time to train the people the hire to work in the reptile area. Well good luck and just try to be creative and use any resource you can think of.
