Hi Chris! Listen, I cannot tell you where I read it or heard it, but get those poster black lights away from your iguana. I believe they are supposed to be bad for their eyes. Maybe someone else knows where that little bit of info comes from :o)
As for heating at night...you could use one of those CHE things that only put out heat not light. Or most pet stores do carry the reptile night lights. In fact the red one sold for birds is the same as the one for reptiles only different packaging. Those party bulbs that are red or blue would work during warmer weather but I've not been able to find any higher than 25W and that's not enough even if your house is not cold at night. It's gonna depend on the size of the enclosure and how warm the house/room is at night as to what wattage will get it up to a good nighttime temp. It may be better to invest in a CHE (ceramic heating element). The initial cost seems high (in fact it is)but the thing reportedly lasts a very long time. The reptile/bird lights are at least $8 and lasts like a light bulb AND can break pretty easily IMHO. If I weren't afraid of one of my kids, or more than likely myself *grin*, getting burned on a CHE by touching it when still on I'd go for one myself.
