I found this but it is spelled differently:
Silver sulfadiazine (SILL-ver sul-fa-DYE-a-zeen), a sulfa medicine, is used to prevent and treat bacterial or fungus infections. It works by killing the fungus or bacteria.
It's spelled silvadene *sigh* When I ran a search using both spellings I came up with all sorts of things so.....see what the label says for the "technical" word. Here's the link to what I just stuck up here:
