: Alrighty, here is my problem, I have a small iguana, but I like to plan ahead. So instead of getting a big, huge cage for it, I would like to just let it run around in my room. Just one problem, I don't want it to urinate/defecate all over. Is there a way to train him to a litter box or something of that nature. She already goes in the same spot in her 20 gallon long, will that make it that much easier?
Iguanas nearly always have a "preferred" spot that they like to relieve themselves in. Go figure.
Yesh, there is a way to potty train your ig! I'm going through the same process with mine. What I do is I throw my iguana (Dexter) into a plastic tub full of warm water. The warm water gets their bowel movements going, and voila! They go in the water instead of in their cage. Then you jest scoop out the poop, disinfect the tub (or whatever you poop your iguana in), instant litter box!
