What do you do with the eggs?

For those of you with female igs, what do you do with the eggs after the iguana lays them? And I don't mean fertile eggs. I have heard people say put them in the freezer. What does this do and how long do you keep them there? I don't have a female ig, and I am just curious about this. Thanks.
