I'm taking tomorrow to go "to town" shopping, which will take me from early morning until late tomorrow night. I'll have 6 hours minimum of traveling to and from time to think about why I had such a thin skin today and why I let it get to me and goad me into a fight, which is so completely unlike me. Normally conflict scorches my circuits, if you know what I mean.
In the meantime. I am thinking maybe Roni is starting to get a little adjusted? She was really a crab for awhile today, pushing the limits all over the place. At one point, when I would not allow her to sit on my head(I never do) she actually hissed at me, and demonstrated her large, red dewlap! I thought she may try to bite even. She never did, but it seemed she really wanted to try and be boss for the day. I didn't let her of course. Some stroking while holding her firmly and some calming talk and yes, a massage, and after a few minutes she was back to the "normal" laid back critter that moved in. I accused her of having PMS and told her she was grounded. She glared at me but didn't argue. At no time did she even move her tail, so I really didn't feel that threatened, but it did lead me to wonder what a bite from a lizard would feel like. You guys guessed it, all my critters, and never been bit! I have always been able to calm animals down, to approach dogs no one else could, etc. And, I'm
always extremely careful to watch my own neck and to respect the animal. So I'm lucky.
Also. Roni was scooting around today and I didn't see her for a short time. Naturally, I went looking. I found her in the tub, looking around "impatiently" like "ok, where's the water. I wanna go swimming, and I wanna go now!" Took her out and turned the faucets on, and in she jumped like she was a seal going off a water slide at Marineland or something. Of course, I had already dechlored the water before she hit it, but geez, I'll have to really watch that. She apparently was used to daily tubbies.
p.s. she is STILL using the toilet, no accidents since she moved in, not even in the excitement of exploring a new house and family. However. She still thinks dogs are the devil's invention, and gives wonder-poodle a wide berth. He looks at her like "what is your problem?" And he lays there. Could care less as long as he still gets his daily rations of hugs and stuff.
