Hi Leonel,
I hope the website than Iguanamomma kindly posted will help you. I hope to have a
ton more new really super gross pictures added soon, of eggs developing inside nematode females, taken
from green iguana fecals that I did.
If you are interested in doing your iguana's fecal tests yourself, have
your vet or other trusted person who knows what they are doing teach you.
It is not that difficult at all but make sure you know absolutely what you are identifying
and know how to calculate dosages before you administer any drugs.
I suggest only doing fecal float and smear, don't worry about the other numerous and
more difficult tests
unless your iguana is showing signs of illness due to parasites.Any fecal flush a good
vet should perform, never try that yourself.
I just found the best place to buy Fecasol i.e. Sodium nitrate for performing fecal floats!!!
Gee the things that make me happy these days, heee!
It is called Lambriar Vet and you can get a free catalog at www.Lambriarvet.com
Do not buy microscope slides there though they are way expensive and probably not very good
quality either.
If you do not regularly do a lot of fecal tests then I would just forget about the Fecasol and
use a saturated sugar solution or for that matter just skip the fecal float altogether and
just do a very thorough fecal smear.
Best of luck!!
