: I'll tell ya what always worked with my mom, but I can't promise that this will help. I always got her to hold someone else's reptile, bird, hamster, whatever. With Mammals it's easy, once she puts them up to her face and baby talks them, I know I've got her, but with reptiles it's a little different. My mom was actually deathly afraid of mice and snakes (and with good reason too, she was nearly killed my a water moccasan), but I managed to get her used to them. I now have a snake, and she's ok, with them mice I feed it now too. You might want to try just getting her used to them by trying to educate her about them and taking her to the pet store alot b-4 you jump in and try to buy one. How long it's gonna take, or even if it's gonna work at all will all depend on how afraid of them she is. If she's terribly afraid, don't push too hard. Just try to think what it would take for you to get over something you are terribly afraid of.
