Okay, Kristin, I went back and found where I had read about blue lines. One place was postings on the Iguana Mailing List re someone's ig who had developed "blue squiggly lines" on its head. I'm going to put up the answers that were given to her:

From: Ann Elizabeth Nash I see these blue squiggles from time to time and decided they are rubmarks. My igs get them on their head and I suspect if there was more flesh in that area, it might be a bruise instead of a mark. In their sunning cage they get aggressive and bump their heads from time to time.

Iggy gets blue squiggles occasionally, but thats due to Bob taking a walk over her with his not so manicured claws. She bruises easily - bless!!! But she gets her own back!!

Another place I found reference to blue marks is in an article by Melissa Kaplan. This is the URL for it:

Read the part re thermal changes and see if this MORE closely resembles what you are seeing on your iguana.

Either way I don't *think* you have a serious problem going on but one that is "fixable." I'd still look and see if there's anything at all that she could be rubbing her head against. If it's the temperature thing, then that's easy enough to fix. You shouldn't have to be concerned about a calcium problem IF you are using a good diet for her, providing UVB lighting and real sun when possible, and calcium supplement if needed. By all means, if you are concerned about these lines take her in for an exam. IMHO a "wait and see" attitude will be okay; however, if you see no change in them (if you up the temp if it's the problem) OR more develop and you see no cause for them then it's time for a professional to take a look at her.
