:"Today my teacher told me that "Classy" was attacking the other ig...but the lady thinks that it could maybe be because Classy has been cooped up her entire life and doesn't really know what to do."

...Makes sense to me. If you would tell your teacher to tell the lady to get on this forum, we could steer her in the right direction as to what to do with Classy getting used to her other ig.

I recently adopted an adult male and when we first brought him home, my female LUNGED at him and bit him. It was quite violent, and I could not believe how poorly they reacted to each other! The first week we had him was so bad that I really didn't think we could keep him. I didn't see how they could ever get along.

Luckily, they both calmed down once they realized that nothing was going to happen to them, and now they're friends. They usually sleep together--sometimes on top of each other--and get along much much better now. Occasionally, they will still nip at each other's tail, but it's nothing too serious.

I think my male is in his breeding season, and that's why he is always after her. She just defends herself by nipping back.

Perhaps that's what's going on with Classy and the male she now lives with--maybe he's in his breeding season right now and Classy isn't.

Then again, maybe it just won't work out after all. Iguanas don't always get along, and they DON'T really need a companion. Having two is fun, but if the lady doesn't feel she can keep him, it would be better for him if you could somehow find a home for him through your reptile group you wrote about.

As always, PLEASE keep us posted! I still think about Classy and hope she has found a good, permanent home. It is hard on iguanas to keep shuffling them around, so for her sake, I hope the lady keeps her.

Post a note when you find out more, k?
