Hi Kurt & welcome.....your iglet is developing MBD. That underbite, if ya take the eraser end of a pencil and gently press along it, will be spongy and not hard the way an iguana's jawline is supposed to be. The upper and lower jaw should meet and form a tight seal. Any deviation is suspect of the onset of MBD/kidney disease (kidney disease being rarer in iglets). A radical diet change is needed as well as veterinary intervention. Tums is a very good calcium supplement but your iglet needs it EVERYDAY!! and as Joan mentioned appropriate artificial uvb tubes operating 10-12, or natural sunlight exposure the more the better! It will take a long time to see any change...8 months maybe (even with a radical diet change, uvb exposure and vet intervention) and if the deformity is bad, your iglet may have it for the rest of his life. Ive seen many adult igs with such deformities and it doesn't impair eating or ability to breath through their nose, but the sooner you get this little guy checked out the better. Please keep us posted Kurt. We're here for ya!
